DRAWING FROM EXPERIENCE
An Art Exhibition & Open House was held at Taylor Care Adult Behavioral Health at Berlin on April 16th, in anticipation of Mental Health Awareness Month in May. The Exhibition featured original works by Taylor Care clients who use art as a vehicle to share their lived experience with mental illness and recovery. The event was curated by art therapist Stevie French, who noted the exhibit’s value in destigmatizing mental illness. The event was well-attended and attracted prominent figures in the mental health arena, including John Pellicane of the Office of Mental Health and Addiction and the Department of Health and Human Service for Camden County; Lorraine Sweeney, community liaison for Cooper University Hospital; Amy Sperling and Tricia Bradley, Social Worker and director respectively of Joseph’s House; LaCisha Laws of Camcare Health Corporation; and John Rice of the Mental Health Association of Southwestern NJ.
