A VERY SPECIAL NURSING HOME WEEK

Skilled Nursing Facilities throughout the Ocean Healthcare Network are celebrating Nursing Home Week 2021 with more passion and meaning than ever before. The past year has been one of unprecedented challenges for caregivers, social workers, dietary staff, housekeeping, administration, and staff members at all levels. The heightened precautions to prevent the spread of germs, including social distancing, masks, PPE, and sometimes isolation, placed enormous physical, social, and emotional burdens on so many nursing home workers.

“It has been quite a ride,” said Abe Mermelstein, LNHA, administrator at Royal Suites Healthcare and Rehabilitation. “But through it all, our staff just kept rising to the challenge – doing extra hours, finding creative ways to keep residents occupied and happy. And keeping an amazing attitude too!”

It has been very heartwarming to see the many emails and notes from community members expressing their profound gratitude for the caregivers and staff who are always going the extra mile to keep residents safe, healthy, and in good spirits.
